Make a Complete Set
What You Need
Any set of 3 to 5 similar objects, like blocks or napkins
What To Do
Place several items together, and ask your child how many more you would need to get to a given number. For example, “Here are two pencils. How many more do we need so that there are enough for all four of us?”
Finding Math Everywhere
Make math helpful. This activity is a great one for young kids to see how math helps to solve problems. For example, hand your child 2 napkins when setting the table, and ask how many more you need so that everyone has one.
